Spirits at One Eleven Main?
 Treat
yourself to a frightfully good time this Halloween season with a
visit to One
Eleven Main. Many consider One Eleven to be Galena’s premier local dining experience; however, few are aware that the building
situated at 111 N. Main Street once housed Illinois’ first mortuary and later a casket-making company. Recent
reports of paranormal activity have piqued the interest of locals, visitors and media.
Stop in to One Eleven Main to examine a ghoulish photo (see left) snapped by Executive Chef Ryan Boughton. On display in the atrium,
the large photo appears to capture 3 ghost-like figures frolicking around a streetlamp behind One Eleven Main.
Ryan’s eerie photograph was not the first, or the last, unexplained happening at One Eleven. Ask the staff to
share their spooky tales. You’ll hear about the time the name “John” was unexplainably found written in
sawdust; the evening a voice boomed from a disconnected intercom; and a startling day when a lady in white
mysteriously appeared and disappeared.
While at One Eleven raise a spirit of your own with one of these seasonal drinks:
Ghostly Comfort - Southern Comfort, Vodka, Sweet and Sour and Sprite
Johnny's Revival - Frangelico, Vanilla Vodka and Sprite
Lady in White - Kahlua, Malibu Rum and White Godiva
