Doorknocker similar to those found in Dublin's Merrion Square Irish Cottage logo

The City of Dublin, particularly in the area behind Trinity College known as Merrion Square, is blessed with many beautiful doorways and doorknockers.

One such doorknocker, the Lion's Head, is so named after the kings of Britain at the time. This Georgian era (18th century) design is one of the most impressive. It was reportedly used as part of the Royal Seal.
