Jump aboard one of our buses for a guided tour of the famous
Potosi Brewery. Once the
fifth largest brewery in Wisconsin, the brewery closed in 1972. Now restored, the
building is currently home to the National Brewery Museum dedicated to preserving
artifacts and memories from American Breweries. Our tour will also offer an
opportunity to sample many of the
area's fine beers.
Our next stop is a private tasting at the former Specht Brewery located in Galena,
Illinois. Once home to 7 operating breweries, Galena’s rich brewing history has
vanished...that is until the Galena Beer Company
introduced Fevre River Ale in early
2009. Sample this great Hefeweizen while standing in the barrel room of this historic
brewery.
Regional Microbrew Tasting with
Sausage, Cured Meat & Cheese Lunch

Upon returning from the brewery tour, we'll stop at
One Eleven Main to sample the region's best microbreweries including selections
from Capital Brewery (Middleton, WI),
Millstream Brewing Company (Amana, IA) and
Gray’s Brewing Company (Janesville, WI).
Enjoy a hand-selected plate of the area's finest meats and cheeses. The flavors of cured hams, dried sausage
and pungent cheeses are enhanced when matched with robust beers, sweet honey and dynamic
balsamic vinegars.
An assortment of soda from these breweries will also be available.
After the lunch and tasting, take time to stroll Galena’s Main Street with 90 plus boutique
shops; return to The Irish Cottage to relax; or continue the
beer tasting party at Frank O’Dowd’s Irish Pub & Grill.
